Lady Stewartby, the granddaughter of Lord Tweedsmuir for whom the school is named, will be in attendance on June 2nd. Her brother is the current Lord Tweedsmuir. She is pictured with Alan Clegg the President of the Lord Tweedsmuir Alumni Association.

Lord Tweedsmuir is the oldest secondary school in Surrey.  Its origins begin in 1912 as one room in Cloverdale Public School.

As a result the Lord Tweedsmuir Alumni Association is planning a 100th Anniversary School Reunion. It will be held on June 2, 2012 at Lord Tweedsmuir, 6151 – 180th Street, Surrey, BC.  The time will be from 11 am to 4 pm.

This reunion is open to any one who has attended the school.  Participants need not have formally graduated or "walked the stage" to attend.

Entry times will be staggered to ease registration.  The core times will be:
              1912-1969  11 am to 1 pm
              1970-1989  12:30 to 2:30
1990 to the present  2:00 to 4 pm
No one is limited to the times listed above.  We went to this staggered time approach in 1993 when we were asked by local people who had to work on  reunion day and only had an hour or two to spare.  If someone wants to be with us for 5 hours so be it.  Our welcome and introduction part of the day will be at 1 pm.

Lady Deborah Stewartby, the grand daughter of John Buchan, Lord Tweedsmuir will be attending the reunion.  Her brother, the current Lord Tweedsmuir, is not able to attend as the 2nd of June is the Royal Jubilee celebration for Queen Elizabeth II.  As a peer, Lord Tweedsmuir must be part of the Jubilee celebrations.

This is the 100th anniversary of Surrey High School and Lord Tweedsmuir. All former students, graduates, staff and friends of Lord Tweedsmuir are invited to attend.

There will be an entrance charge of $12 per person to defray expenses related to security, janitorial costs, and insurance. Tickets purchased at the door will be on a cash only basis.  If you would like to use credit cards please purchase your tickets online.  Come out and meet your former classmates, teachers, and special friends.

This will be an alcohol free event, due to the new Provincial drinking and driving laws, plus the prohibitive cost of insurance where liquor is involved.  Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided by the Lord Tweedsmuir Band parents.  All profits from the refreshments will support the music program at Lord Tweedsmuir.

Use this weekend to also organize individual class reunions, where you can meet your graduating class at some venue outside of Lord Tweedsmuir. This could be your opportunity to meet your former classmates in a more private setting.

Cloverdale Traditional School, the former Surrey High School, Lord Tweedsmuir, and Cloverdale Junior High, will open to accommodate those former students who would like to tour the facility.  Those former students wishing to tour Cloverdale Traditional School can to so from 10 am to 11am.  The principal Mr. Fadum will open the school at that time and conduct the tours.
